A Glimpse of the Real World

This week has been very crazy for me. I created my cold call script to help maintain a professional call with a lawyer. Additionally, I practiced the script with Mrs.Brittain and she allowed me to start calling professionals in my desired field. I read an article about copyrights this week and struggled with the concepts of broadcasting because of my lack of knowledge with the technical terms. However, I solved that problem by expanding my general knowledge in broadcasting using other articles and websites that I found on Google. In my article, there was a slight mention of a Trademark and I plan on researching Trademarks next week to further my understanding. I completed my contact list and have contacted 10 Intellectual Property and Patent attorneys. No one picked up except one attorney who called me back and I had a great conversation with him. I was very proud of myself because I kept the conversation going and we scheduled a meeting at Starbucks next week. I am excited about the calls I am going to get back and hope to schedule more informational meetings this week. While researching to find attorneys, I didn’t expect the best outcome. Nonetheless, I was shocked to see the exceptional amount of great attorneys in Dallas and I am eager to start meeting them. An attorney called me back during school so I was unable to communicate with them, but I have left him another voicemail. I can ́t wait for him to contact me back! I plan on continuing to call other professionals in my field this week as well as update my website with my Research Assessments and Blogs.
