Concluding Revisions

I focused heavily on my third figure this week. I received feedback from my mentor and was advised to add more details to the written description. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out what more I could add to the description because everything looked self-explanatory to me. I looked at a few articles by Ipwatchdog and what the article said was to look at it as an onion. There are many layers to an onion. In the same way, a description needs to be detailed with information regarding the location, material, how it relates to the invention, etc. I learned a lot about different ways to describe plastic or a piece of foam in ways that I would’ve never expected before. I went back to my written description and began to add more detail. I feel as though I successively created the description and sent the edits back to my mentor. I received the final revisions from my mentor in which he made a few adjustments to some of the technical words I used. What I noticed was that he broke up my two paragraphs into five because it helped provide more clarity. A few questions that have arisen while reviewing my descriptions were: How should the description be written if a component is broken into multiple illustrations? What would a patent attorney do if the patent is not approved? Moving forward, I need to create a document with all of my claims, illustrations, and description. The document will then be sent to my mentor for final revisions. I need to start researching other fields of patents such as computer science or engineering. The ai revolution is upon us and it is important to stay up to date on new applications.
