A Stressful Week

It was a very stressful week indeed. There were no Research Assessments or Interview Assessments due this week so that gave me a lot of time to think about my original work. I created an in-depth calendar full of dates I want to accomplish. This calendar will help me stay on top of my work and organize myself. It was a challenge setting this calendar up because of how much I already have because of school. Furthermore, I realized that I would have to give up part of my weekend to help keep myself accountable for the goal I have for that week. I am willing to let go of a little part of weekend rather than procrastinate till the deadline. During the process of composing a calendar, a lot of questions came into my mind such as: How long do I expect this proposal to be? What is the best way to generalize patent-eligibility in the most effective way possible? I want to stay away from specifics into engineering but help my target audience find the best approach. I know a lot of lawyers to this day have difficulties with eligibility so I want to learn more about the challenges. Additionally, I learned a lot about how the world works. I was turned down by a professional when I offered him to be my mentor. I took it to heart and wondered why throughout the week, but I slowly began to realize that I was taking this too hard on myself and I know he only meant good. It was a big learning experience for me because I had never felt rejection in this way. Mentorship is a strong commitment and I am glad he respectfully denied it. Luckily, I am in contact with another lawyer and plan to meet with her this Thursday to discuss the Mentorship Handbook. I would consider myself successful because I bounced back from this and still have high hopes of finding a mentor. I plan on gathering more information on my Original Work next week as well as researching more into what makes a great proposal. I need to familiarize myself with different patent proposals already made so I plan on reading a few this week as well.
