This week consisted of a lot of assignments. I completed a research assessment on an analysis of the relationship between economic indicators and globalization through the protection of property in selected countries. I have learned that international treaties help protect the works of creativity across boundaries. Through this idea, it is clear that protection and globalization are connected. The article stated that the increase in the protection of Intellectual Property influences national economies because these innovations attract overseas investment and develop products for exports. I had an over the phone meeting with my mentor in which we discussed final product ideas. My ideas were to give a presentation to middle schoolers about law and my other idea was to create a patent for my friend Sidharth. My mentor loved the second idea and we talked a lot about it. I would consider myself successful in coming up with an idea that was out of the box and challenging. While coming up with how I was going to make this idea work, I faced a lot of problems. The design and diagram application by Microsoft, Visio, is hard to understand so I need to possibly find something that’s simpler. I found a few software that will aid me in achieve the drawing’s at my best ability, I will have to conduct a prior art search using Google Patents, however, I am confused about how I will search wearable technology up. How do I find other inventions that are similar to my client’s product? How will I get the formatting right in this patent? I did acquire a lot of knowledge about an inventor’s role in meeting with an attorney and discussing their invention. There is a non-disclosure agreement that has to be signed with both parties. Next week, I will be having a meeting with Sidharth to discuss the technology behind the shoe as well as start my prior art search. A few of the things that I have realized that I want to learn about is the detailed description aspects of patents and the inventor’s claims.
